Faith Abshire,
PLPC
What sets Faith's apart is her commitment to understanding the "why" behind struggles, not just managing symptoms. She recognizes that anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions often have roots in our nervous systems, past experiences, family dynamics, and even physical factors like sleep, nutrition, and hormones. By addressing these interconnected elements, her client's experience lasting transformation rather than temporary relief.

Faith supports individuals (children-ages 6+, teens, and adults), couples, and families navigating:
-
Stress, Anxiety & Depression – including burnout, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and self-esteem concerns
-
Work & Career Challenges – burnout, entrepreneurship, career transitions, and leadership stress
-

-
Parenting & Family Life – relationship challenges and family conflict; behavioral, social, emotional, and academic struggles in children and teens
-
Life Transitions – career changes, empty nest, midlife development, grief, and divorce
-

-
Trauma
Faith's greatest passion is watching clients discover their own capacity for change—even when life seems flipped upside down. She believes everyone deserves to feel confident in who they are, trust their decisions, and communicate authentically in their relationships. Whether you're a parent supporting a struggling child, a professional feeling overwhelmed, or someone ready to step into your next chapter, her goal is to help you build an unshakeable foundation of self-awareness, resilience, and joy.
Faith uses an eclectic therapeutic approach with her clients, tailoring sessions to each individual's needs and circumstances, however some of the modalities she may incorporate are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Polyvagal Theory (Nervous system focus), and Attachment Theory. She also offers Christian counseling for clients who desire faith-integrated support.
While Faith's client's come to her for a variety of reasons, she has a special heart for neurodivergent children and families. She understands that ADHD, autism, and other neurological differences aren't problems to be fixed but natural variations that bring unique strengths and perspectives. Her approach celebrates these differences while providing practical tools for navigating a world that wasn't always designed with neurodivergent minds in mind.
Faith received her Masters in Counseling from Kairos University. Outside of the therapy office, she is also an entrepreneur-with experience in franchises, start-ups and real estate. She is a native of Louisiana and is excited to be back home in Lafayette. When Faith is not in session, you might find her at the beach, experimenting with new recipes, playing tennis, or spending time with her family. She is also a certified chef and coach, and has completed various mental health trainings in Anxiety, Couples, Trauma, Neurodivergence, Nutrition, Neuroscience, and more that best compliment her approach of treating the whole patient.
"My commitment is to see you—really see you—and help you recognize the incredible capacity you already possess. Together, we'll build your toolkit, strengthen your mind and body, and create sustainable changes that last long after our work together ends. You don't have to settle for surviving when you were meant to thrive."
